Keywords: Mind Mapping, Reading Comprehension, Narrative Text This study aimed to investigate whether the use of the Mind Mapping Technique significantly affects students’ reading comprehension of narrative texts at MTS Al-Ukhuwah. This research employed a quantitative method using a quasi-experimental design, specifically the Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The sample of this research consisted of 26 ninth-grade students who were divided into two groups: the experimental class (IX.1) and the control class (IX.2), selected through total sampling. The instrument used in this study was a 30 item multiple choice reading comprehension test administered during the pre-test and post-test. To determine the differences in students’ comprehension before and after the treatment, the researcher conducted a normality test, homogeneity test, and an independent sample t-test. Data analysis using SPSS revealed that the data were normally distributed and homogeneous. The mean score of the experimental class increased from 56.3 (pre-test) to 66.6 (post-test), while the control class showed only a slight increase from 52.7 to 53.0. The independent sample t-test showed a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.001 < 0.05, indicating that H₀ was rejected and Hₐ was accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Mind Mapping Technique has a significant effect on students’ reading comprehension of narrative texts at MTS Al-Ukhuwah.
