Abstract

This study aimed to know whether or not there is a significant effective student writing descriptive text after taught by using flash card. This research used One Group Pretest - Posttest Design. The population of this study was students of 8th grade of SMP N 16 Bintan with sample of this research is 8.1 and 8.3 class. The instruments used in this study were writing test. The data analysis that done in this research was normality test, homogeneity test, and hypothesis test. Based on the result of the analysis of the research, T-test result, P-value of hypothesis test was 0,000 which mean we rejected H0 and accepted Ha. Total of data pre-test and post-test in both classes were increase. Standard deviation also increased. Mean, Mode and median also increased to. The highest value and lowest value was also increased. Which mean when teacher want to teach students in learn descriptive text, they could use flashcard. Flashcard has effective as a media in solving students’ problem in descriptive text.
