Abstract
The purpose of the research was to know whether or not there is a correlation between students’ vocabulary mastery and their reading comprehension at seventh grade of SMPN 4 Senayang. In this research, the researcher focused on the correlation between students’ vocabulary mastery and their reading comprehension. The researcher used quantitative research method. The sample of this research was 30 students at seventh grade of SMPN 4 Senayang. In collecting the data of the research, the researcher used the multiple choice test consisted 20 items for vocabulary mastery and 10 items for reading comprehension. The technique used to analyze the data by using the Pearson’s Product Moment Correlation Coefficient. Based on the data gotten by the researcher, the correlation coefficient variable of vocabulary mastery and reading comprehension was 0.473. It was seen from table strange of correlation, 0.473 that is located between 0.400.0.600 it means that, the correlation is moderate correlation. Therefore, H� is rejected, and H� is accepted. From the result of the research, the researcher found that there is a correlation between students’ vocabulary mastery and their reading comprehension at seventh grade of SMPN 4 Senayang.
