Abstract

At this time, all human activities have turned into online platforms, social media has become a huge force. Through interactions on social media, internet users can establish unlimited relationships and without being limited by anyone, distance or time. As a result of this, with all activities carried out online, online gender-based violence, one of which is revenge pornography or the spread of pornographic content with the motive of revenge, is increasing rapidly. With the aim of humiliating the victim with threats and blackmail. Therefore, an effort is needed to combat this case. This effort is carried out by further reviewing how the role and how to enforce preventive law against the crime of revenge pornography. This thesis aims to examine the role of the victim in the crime of revenge pornography and to examine how law enforcement is handled to eliminate the factors behind the crime of revenge pornography in Indonesia. This research uses empirical juridical methods or in other words, a research conducted on the actual situation or real conditions that occur in the community with the intention of knowing and finding the facts and data needed, after the data needed is collected then leads to the identity of the problem at hand. finally leads to problem solving. The result of this study is that the role of the victims of revenge pornography is more due to their weak physical and mental condition as women and law enforcement to prevent the occurrence of revenge pornography. The government should also cooperate with educational institutions, the private sector, as well as the media to help improve public education services. The conclusion of this study is that the role of the victim in cases A and B is passive. Her role is more due to her weak physical and mental condition as a woman and preventive efforts to prevent the occurrence of revenge pornography, one of which is helping to improve public education services, especially for women in Indonesia.
