Abstract

LoRa (Long Range) is Semtech's proprietary radio modulation technique produced as an opensource network. LoRa uses CSS (Chirp Spread Spectrum) modulation technology which makes it possible to transmit low power long distance data over unlicensed ISM (Instrumentation Science and Medical) bands. The implementation of LoRa technology is an IoT (Internet of Things) network, remote monitoring and so on. The purpose of this research is to design and develop a LoRa transceiver device capable of measuring the maximum 433Mhz LoRa distance including parameters that can determine the quality of LoRa data transmission. The device used in this research is the TTGO T-Beam V1.1 which is produced by Lilygo, relies on the ability of ESP32 as its CPU and has been equipped with supporting components such as LoRa, GPS Neo 6M and a battery holder. the test is carried out by placing the receiver device at an altitude of 70-75 m above sea level. several parameters that can determine the quality of a data transmission medium, namely Distance, Delay, Packet Loss, RSSI and SNR. The test was carried out in berakit coastal areas using 2 data collection methods, namely continuous and Stop and Go. The results of this study indicate that testing using both methods produces different values for each parameter. The farthest distance that can be achieved using the Stop and Go method is 7.5 Km, packet loss is 27.1%, longest delay is 27 seconds, minimum RSSI is -118 and minimum SNR is -23.25. The packet loss and delay parameters increase while the RSSI and SNR decrease with increasing distance.
