Abstract

This article aims to analyze the ability of eighth grade students in answering questions a high level. The sample in this study were 60 students at four junior high schools in the city of Tanjungpinang, there are SMPN 1, SMPN 4, SMPN 7 and SMPN 11Tanjungpinang. Reasons taking of four the school as research samples are the school has provided the opportunity for eighth grade math teacher for training Capacity Building Development Quality Audit SBSNP held by LPMP Kepulauan Riau province, one of the training materials is about the ability of teachers provide a high-level inquiry to students, teachers are expected after training can apply it in the classroom so that teachers are able to formulate questions that develop higher-order thinking in students. The study was also able to measure the extent to which students' ability in solving mathematical problems which contains open questions, analyzing, evaluating and creating.
