Abstract
This study aimed to develop a Scratch Program for teaching listening in report text at grade 9. This study was conducted at grade 9 in the second semester of academic year 2022/2023 in SMPN 10 Tanjungpinang, especially at class 9.1 which consisted of 30 students. Based on the research observation showed that the teacher find it difficult in providing a proper learning media especially for listening skill. Related to the problem, Scratch Program can help the teacher in solving the problem. The subject matter of this product was report text. The research design of this study was Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE design model. ADDIE was acronym for Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate. In this study, the researcher used quantitative and qualitative data analysis. The data was obtained from the interview the English teacher, validation sheet, and questionnaire for students’ perception toward the product. The result showed that the material and media validation were categorized as “Valid to be Tested” after revisions from the expert validation. Scratch was directly implemented to the students. Based on the results of student implementation of the practicality test sheet, it was found that Scratch Program for teaching listening skill was appropriate and practical to be used in the learning process.
