Abstract

This study aimed to design and determine the validity of an educational video as a learning medium for teaching writing descriptive text material in class 7. This type of study was Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) model. In this study, researcher only conducted research up to the Development stage. Data were obtained from pre-research interviews with English teachers, pre-research student questionnaires, and validation sheets. The subjects of this study were 36 students in class 7.3 and an English teacher from SMP Negeri 1 Karimun. The research results revealed that there was a lack of learning media used during the learning process. The researcher designed educational video that received good responses from material experts and media experts. The results of the validation assessment of educational video materials and media for descriptive text material in class 7 were valid.
