Abstract

Baamboozle is an alternative media for learning English that is attractively designed in the form of games on social networks. This study aims to see whether the use of Baamboozle can improve the writing achievement of seventh grade students of SMPN 1 Singkep, focus on desciptive text learning. This study used classroom action research. The research design used was planning, action, observation and reflection. Data was collected from the junior high school consisting of 24 students. The instrument used to collect data was a observation checklist and writing test. The researcher employed the success criteria to ascertain the success of this study by following the school's KKM of 75. The findings suggest that Baamboozle has the potential to enhance students' writing proficiency in junior high school. The result is that 17 students (70% of class VII at SMPN 1 Singkep) stated that they had reached KKM 75 on the writing test, and the percentage of students' class participation continued to increase until the final meeting, which was >60%.
