Abstract

During teaching in seventh grade, the teacher has never designed or made conventional learning media, so teacher more often uses common or commonly used media, such as textbooks and sometimes videos. This research is going to develop an awesome conventional media in the form of “Letter Fractions” as a medium for learning the simple present tense for seventh grade students. This research used the Research and Development (R&D) method. Researcher employed the ADDIE model, which stands for Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The instruments that were used in this research included pre-research interview, pre-research questionnaire, validation sheets, and students’ responses sheet. The validation results from the media expert achieved a score of 100%, the same as the score obtained from the subject matter expert, which also was 100%, indicating that Letter Fractions is highly suitable for testing. The results of students’ responses questionnaire yielded a score of 89.91%, indicating that Letter Fractions is highly suitable for use as a learning medium for the simple present tense, particularly in seventh grade at SMPN 16 Tanjungpinang.
