Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between tolerance of ambiguity and English reading comprehension ability among students in the English Language Education Program at Raja Ali Haji Maritime University. This study employed a quantitative method with a correlational design. The sample consisted of 44 students selected as respondents. Data were collected using the Tolerance of Ambiguity questionnaire and an English reading comprehension test. The results indicate that there is no significant relationship between tolerance of ambiguity and English reading comprehension ability (r = 0.123; p = 0.428 > 0.05). Thus, tolerance of ambiguity is not a factor significantly associated with students’ reading comprehension ability.
