Abstract

This study aims to determine students' perceptions about the use of English songs to improve vocabulary. The subjects of this study were first-year students of the English Language Education Study Program at Raja Ali Haji Maritime University. This study used a quantitative descriptive method by distributing a closed questionnaire through Google Form. The research instrument was a Likert scale of 1-5. Data analysis was carried out quantitatively descriptively with the assistance of the JASP application version 0.98.1.0. This study provided the following results: The results of the Bayesian Reliability analysis were included in the high category, with a posterior mean value of 0.8348; The majority of respondents tended to show support and positive responses, with a mean of 4.04 and a mode of 4.39; And students' perceptions about the use of English songs to improve vocabulary were relatively uniform, with slight variations, ranging from 0.6 to 0.8 within the standard deviation range.
