Abstract
Students reading motivation is one of the important factors that influence student learning processes and outcomes. This study aimed to see how students' reading motivation on animation video used the Rasch Model measurement at the ninth grade of SMPN 7 Tanjungpinang. This study used quantitative descriptive methods to find answers to research problems. The data collection instrument used was a questionnaire totaling 24 adapted from the Motivation for Reading Questionnaire (MRQ). This research was conducted in class IX.4 with a total of 46 students in the 2021/2022 academic year. In analyzing the data, the researcher used the Rasch Model with the Winstep application version 3.73 and the SPSS program. The results of the data analysis showed that there were differences in students' reading motivation in grade nine at SMPN 7 Tanjungpinang. This can be seen from the item-person map figure which showed that one student has the highest motivation, several students have medium motivation, and one student has the lowest motivation. And also in the person measure figure, the data were analyzed using the Rasch Model which showed that the mean of the student was 0.79 logit and the standard deviation was 0.82 logit. Based on the research findings, animation video have a significant effect on students' reading motivation.
