Prof. Dewi Nopita, S.Pd., M.Pd., Keywords: Instagram Reels, Teacher Perception, English Teaching This descriptive qualitative tittled “An Analysis Teachers’ Perception on the Use of Instagram in the English Teaching at SMAN 2 Tanjungpinang” aimed to analyze the perceptions of English teachers at SMAN 2 Tanjungpinang regarding the use of Instagram in their teaching practices. The research was conducted in May 2024 by a researcher at SMAN 2 Tanjungpinang Bukit Bestari, Tanjungpinang. The participants were four English teachers from the school. The data collection process involved conducting semi-structured interviews using interview guidelines to gain insights into the teachers' views, experiences, and attitudes towards integrating Instagram into English language instruction. The objective was to understand the perceived benefits, challenges, and implications of utilizing this social media platform for educational purposes within the context of SMAN 2 Tanjungpinang. The findings revealed that these teachers' motivation stemmed from recognizing their students' high engagement with this social media platform and visual content outside the classroom environment. Based on the research, this research was expected to gain knowledge, insights, and benefits in the world of education. The direct results of this research were expected to be useful for understanding how teachers thought about the use of Instagram in learning.
