Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine whether Classroom Action Research using audio-visual media can improve students' writing skills in procedural texts in 10th grade students of SMAN 1 JEMAJA. The subjects of this study were tenth grade students of SMAN 1 jemaja. The number of the study was 27 students. The method used in this research is Classroom Action Research Method. The research was conducted at SMA N 1 jemaja. Students' writing assessment rubric and observation checklist were used as data collection instruments. To improve students' writing skills in procedural text, the researcher conducted two cycles to improve their understanding. The results of the research conducted by the researcher showed that the findings were seen from the percentage of students who obtained a score ≥ 75 in the writing test of cycle 2 higher than the value of cycle 1. the value of cycle 1 was 70% and in cycle II was 78%. So,students' writing skills improved after using audio-visual media in the teaching-learning process.
