Abstract

This study aims to determine the classroom management strategies that teacher used in the seventh grade of SMP Negeri 1 Lingga, using qualitative research and observation, interviews, documentation as research support instruments, using the five components of classroom management from Garret & Tracey 2014 namely 1) Physical classroom design, 2) Rules and routines, 3) relationships, 4) interesting and motivating instructions, 5) discipline, as a basis for analysis for researchers. The results of this study show that teacher in the seventh grade of SMP Negeri 1 Lingga have excellent classroom management where teacher are very helpful and ensure a well-managed and conducive learning environment that supports students in achieving learning. in other words, English teacher must be able to manage and manage the classroom so that there is growing interest from students with an interest in a class and English learning
