Abstract

This study aims to enhance students’ reading comprehension using the Pictionary games as a teaching media. The research focuses on descriptive text material for 8th grade students’ at SMPN 3 Bintan. This study used classroom action research (CAR). The research design were planning, action, observation, reflection. The participant in this study were 34 students from class VIII F. The instruments to collect the data were a reading test and field notes. The researcher applied criteria of success to evaluate the effectiveness of the intervention. The findings indicated that using Pictionary game as a teaching media could enhance students’ reading comprehension, with 76% of the students’ successfully completing the reading test. Additionally, the game increases students’ motivation and engagement, making it an effective and enjoyable in learning process.
