Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine how eighth-grade students at Mts. Madani Tebuireng Bintan's enthusiasm to learn grammar affected their writing skills. This study's particular goal was to determine whether or not students' enthusiasm to learn grammar significantly influenced their writing skills. Eighth graders from two classrooms made up the study's population. There are 40 pupils in all. For this study, 40 pupils were chosen as a sample by the researcher. The researcher employed a questionnaire to gauge the students' level of desire for learning grammar and a writing exam to gauge their writing proficiency in order to gather data. The average level of students' motivation was 74% (good level), according to the study's findings, and their writing proficiency was 64.74% (good level). The data that has been computed indicates that the null hypothesis is accepted, which states that students' motivation to learn grammar does not significantly improve their writing skills. The analysis's findings demonstrate that, at both the 5% and 1% levels, the scores acquired are greater than the r table. The formula for this is 0.312<1.346>0.403.
