Abstract
This study aimed to design and develop an E-Module entitled Natuna Geopark for Tourism as a learning medium to support English for Tourism and meet the specific communication needs of local tour guides in Natuna Geopark. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, consisting of five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. During the analysis stage, data were collected through interviews with tour guides and members of the Natuna Geopark Youth Forum (NGYF) to identify their English learning needs. The findings revealed that the participants experienced difficulties in speaking and listening skills, had limited tourism-related vocabulary, and lacked confidence when communicating with international tourists. Based on these findings, an E-Module was developed by integrating tourism-related materials, geosites, local culture, traditions, and traditional foods of Natuna. The developed product was validated by one language expert and two tourism experts. The validation results indicated that the E-Module was categorized as highly valid and appropriate for implementation. Subsequently, the E-Module was implemented with 10 respondents consisting of 1 junior high school students, 5 senior high school students, 3 NGYF members, and a local tour guide. The implementation results showed highly positive responses, with convenience reaching 90%, usefulness reaching 90% and 70%, self-confidence reaching 100%, and relevance reaching 100%. Although the attractiveness aspect achieved 60% and 50%, it remained within a positive category. The findings demonstrate that the Natuna Geopark for Tourism E-Module is valid, practical, and effective as a learning medium. It supports learners in improving their English communication skills in tourism contexts and provides meaningful learning experiences related to real-life situations in Natuna Geopark. Therefore, the E-Module can serve as an alternative learning resource for students, tour guides, NGYF members, and tourism practitioners in Natuna.
