Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out whether the use of animated short stories in narrative texts can improve the writing skills of class X students of SMAN 1 LINGGA. The subjects of this study were students of class X which consisted of 21 students. 1O male students and 11 female students. This research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) and researchers use class action research by applying the model put forward by Arikunto. There are two cycles with three meetings in cycle one and two meetings in cycle two. There are four stages in each cycle: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The results showed that the use of animated short story media in narrative texts could improve the writing skills of class X students of SMAN 1 LINGGA. In cycle I, the number of students who passed KKM 75 was 6 out of 21 students (29%). In cycle II, the number of students who passed KKM 75 was 18 out of 21 students (86%).
