Abstract

This research aims to design educative content Tiktok as a learning media to improve listening skills for students grade 7. This research was conducted at SMPN 7 Tanjungpinang, Provinsi Kepulauan Riau for the 2023/2024 academic year in class VII, with a total of 30 students. This type of research is Research and Development (R&D) with the research model used is Thiagarajan's 4D model, which is (Define, Design, Develop, and Desseminate) but researchers only focus on using two stages (Define and Design). Data collection instruments use were from the results of the Teacher Guide Interview and also the results of distributing the Student Needs questionnaire. The results of the data analysis that has been carried out that English teachers agree to develop new learning media, namely educational content using the Tiktok application. From the results of distributing questionnaires to find out student needs that 84.1% found it difficult to understand the material using the previous media, from the results of distributing these questionnaires students also need interesting and effective learning media, especially to improve listening skills. The Prototype of Education Tiktok Content will further contribute to the Development and Desseminate stage for implementation purposes.
