Abstract
Menurunya popularitas dan peran alat musik tradisional gong dan gendang dalam acara adat masyarakat di Daik Lingga, Kabupaten Lingga. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara semi terstruktur, dan dokumentasi. Teknik purposive sampling digunakan untuk menentukan informan kunci yang memiliki pengetahuan mendalam tentang tradisi lokal. Teori struktur fungsional Emile Durkheim menjadi kerangka analisis dalam penelitian ini. Teori ini menjelaskan bagaimana struktur dan fungsi komponen sosial, seperti alat musik tradisional, berkontribusi pada kestabilan dan integrasi sosial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa gong dan gendang memiliki peran penting dalam berbagai acara adat di Daik Lingga, seperti pernikahan, khataman, dan sunatan. Alat musik ini berfungsi sebagai pengiring, simbol identitas, dan media komunikasi dalam prosesi adat. Penelitian ini menyoroti pentingnya pelestarian warisan budaya tak benda seperti gong dan gendang dalam menjaga nilai-nilai tradisional dan identitas masyarakat Daik Lingga di tengah dinamika zaman modern. The decreasing popularity and role of traditional musical instruments gongs and drums in traditional community events in Daik Lingga, Lingga Regency. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data was collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. Purposive sampling technique was used to determine key informants who had in-depth knowledge of local traditions. Emile Durkheim's functional structure theory is the analytical framework for this research. This theory explains how the structure and function of social components, such as traditional musical instruments, contribute to social stability and integration. The research results show that gongs and drums have an important role in various traditional events in Daik Lingga, such as weddings, khataman and circumcisions. This musical instrument functions as an accompaniment, identity symbol, and communication medium in traditional processions. This research highlights the importance of preserving intangible cultural heritage such as gongs and drums in maintaining the traditional values and identity of the Daik Lingga community amidst the dynamics of the modern era.
