Abstract

Students' reading comprehension in English learning in the 10th grade was still lacking because they did not understand the vocabulary in the text and felt bored with the printed books generally used as reading tools. This research aimed to improve students' understanding of reading texts with the help of the interactive media Wordwall, which was used as a learning medium in the 10th grade. This research used the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method. The classroom action research design applied in this study was collaborative classroom action research, meaning the researcher collaborated with the English teacher at SMAN 1 MORO as an observer and collaborator. This research was conducted following the Kemmis and McTaggart model with the following action research procedures: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The research was carried out in one cycle consisting of three meetings. Data were collected through pre-observation, observation results, and tests. The research results showed an improvement in students' reading comprehension. Most students gradually achieved good grades by the end of the cycle. The Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM) score for English lessons was 70 (seventy), with a target percentage of 70%. The average score of students in the preliminary study was 65.79 with a percentage of 41%, while the average score in this cycle increased to 84.02 with a percentage of 91%. Additionally, there was positive feedback from the English teacher regarding the implementation of these actions. In conclusion, the use of interactive media such as Wordwall enhanced students' reading comprehension.
