Abstract

The aim of this study was to investigating the effect of using flashcards on students’ vocabulary mastery in telling time and day expressions. This study employed a quantitative method with a Pre-experimental design involving 29 students in the experimental class. To collect data, the researcher used a multiple-choice test. The data were then analyzed using descriptive statistics, a normality test, and a paired t-test via SPSS. The results showed that the students’ mean Pre-test score was 70,00, which increased to 80,34 in the post-test. The paired t-test indicated that the significance level was lower than 0.05. Thus, the results of the study indicate that the use of flashcard media has a significant effect on students’ vocabulary mastery. This medium helps students understand the material more easily and supports the improvement of vocabulary mastery during the learning process. Therefore, the use of flashcard media for material in telling time and days makes a positive contribution to the effective improvement of students’ vocabulary mastery.
