Abstract

This study aims to design a Bivalvia-Based Spinning Wheel learning media for writing skills. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 5 Tanjungpinang, Riau Islands Province, in the 2023/2024 school year in class X with 22 students. This type of research was Research and Development (R&D). Research and Development (R&D) with the research model used Thiagarajan's 4D (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate). Still, this research only focuses on the first two stages: Define and Design. The data collection instruments used came from teacher interviews and the results of distributing student-need questionnaires. From the results of the data analysis that has been done, the English teacher of SMA Negeri 5 Tanjungpinang agrees to develop a new learning media, namely a Bivalvia-based spinning wheel for writing skills. From the results of distributing questionnaires to find out the needs of students, it was known that students need learning media that are interesting and effective, especially to improve their writing skills.
