Abstract

This study investigates the effect of using the 6 Minutes English podcast on the listening skills of eighth-grade students at SMPN 15 Tanjungpinang. Using a pre-experimental design with one-group pre-test and post-test, 18 students were given treatment through podcast-based learning. Data were analyzed using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test and paired sample t-test. Results showed a significant improvement in students’ listening scores after treatment, with a significance value of 0.001 (< 0.05). This indicates that the 6 Minutes English podcast is effective in enhancing students’ listening skills and can be recommended as an alternative learning media.
